Our Story
The Capital Region Workforce Development Board (CRWDB) and the Consortium of Local Elected Officials (CLEO) are collectively responsible for ensuring that the employment and training needs of job seekers and employers are addressed through a comprehensive and efficient public workforce system. The bodies are also jointly responsible for oversight and policy direction of the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds
in the Capital Region, comprised of the Counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, Powhatan, and the City of Richmond.
The CRWDB is a business-led body, appointed by the CLEO. Membership is also drawn from local educational entities, labor organizations, community-based organizations, economic development agencies, and other workforce agencies
The three Virginia Career Works centers that give local businesses and job seekers the resources they need to succeed are guided by the CRWDB.
